When a child escapes abuse within their home, they need support to weather the crisis, heal, and move forward. Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a lifeline for children fleeing abuse. From providing basic necessities to teaching life skills that instill confidence and self-worth, our services lift fragile children from a place of harm to one of hope.

Services are also available to children who are, solely due to the lack of items necessary for sustainability, at risk of a Child Protective Services intervention.

Our goal is to keep children together with non-abusive family members, and out of the foster care system, whenever possible.

It's Socktober, and we couldn't be more excited! 🧦
Starting today, we're asking our community to donate new socks for children in crisis. It's one of the most requested items we provide, and one of the simplest ways to make a child feel cared for.

🏆 Take the Socktober Challenge
Businesses, schools, churches, organizations, and individuals: grab a box, decorate it, rally your coworkers, classmates, or neighbors, and compete for the title of Socktober Champion.

✔️ Your name and phone number
✔️ Your business, school, or group name (if applicable)
✔️ Whether you'd like to compete, serve as a public drop-off location, or both

We'll promote every public drop-off site on our social media so more of the community knows where to give.

📅 The challenge runs October 1 through November 2. All socks are due to TOMVO by Monday, November 2.
