Services are also available to children who are, solely due to the lack of items necessary for sustainability, at risk of a Child Protective Services intervention.
Our goal is to keep children together with non-abusive family members, and out of the foster care system, whenever possible.

Early this morning, we gathered to celebrate the life of a dear friend who served us faithfully for many years. Our beloved refrigerator, recently and affectionately named Olof, has decided to explore warmer temperatures.
Olof wasn’t just an appliance; he was a cornerstone of our kitchen. His sturdy exterior displayed announcements about changes in labor laws that no one ever read, but his interior protected dairy products, fruits, vegetables, and other foods that the children we serve enjoy daily. He was also the guardian of the ketchup that someone generously donated, following a condiment-free BBQ in our parking lot last year.
Sure, he had quirks—his occasional screeches made our evening shift question if they would be the star of an upcoming horror movie. But quirks added to Olof’s character, and he was our faithful companion.
If there is an afterlife for appliances, Olof will be one of the best to chill with. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, we have already found our new guardian of refrigerated food.
At around 1 pm, we were introduced to a stainless steel confidant with a cool interior. A naming ceremony will likely occur on Wednesday morning. Suggestions are now being accepted. Frozone and Elsa have both been mentioned.
On a serious note, thank you to everyone who gave to our refrigerator fund quickly. Thanks to you, we will be able to continue to provide food to children in immediate crisis, the moment they need it.

URGENT NEED
The heartwarming moments we share at the crisis intervention center appear to have impacted our refrigerator. At some point last night, it decided that it was tired of being cool. 😎 It is now emulating a Florida-like lifestyle on the inside. This has left us in a pickle.
The refrigerator is older than some of our team members. For this reason, it is best that it, the washing machine that leaks oil on clothing, and our oven that fibs when it comes to temperature control, venture off to the land of recycling.
Please donate today to help us continue to provide refrigerated products to the children in crisis we serve. We promise not to watch Frozen in the kitchen again. It is clear that Olof was an influencer.

I wish so much that I had any money at all to donate. But may I suggest a business called Fritz's Appliance? He runs a wonderful business out of Cohoes. He sells secondhand and or refurbished appliances and usually has a great selection. They come with an automatic 6-week warranty I think or two month warranty or something like that and you can purchase more. He Services them himself and has been in business for a couple decades anyways.. he also delivers and installs, and I have a feeling he might even do so for free for your organization.
I tried donating but can't tell if it went through. Let me know if it didn't.

Brace yourselves for an explosion of productivity. This morning, a group from Broadview Federal Credit Union is on-site to volunteer. Their team dove into a mission of compassion and action as they packaged aid for children in crisis who experienced emergencies early this morning. Choosing products for children in crisis may seem easy, but if you have ever taken a child shopping for clothing, know that far more is riding on this process. Most of the children they are helping have retreated to the home of a relative; some have transitioned to a foster care, having left everything behind. The Broadview team will now provide these children with the items they need to start over again so they can begin their healing process. That is something to be extraordinarily proud of and right now, this is one of the several team members who is ready for action.
